Owens Corning has expanded its popular
Duration® line of roofing shingles to help
improve energy efficiency and curb appeal.
Duration Premium Cool Roof shingles use
solar-reflective granules embedded in the
shingles to lower a home's roof temperature,
resulting in potentially lower heating-related
energy costs for homeowners. The shingles
meet federal ENERGY STAR® and California's
new Title 24 Cool Roof standards (effective in
August 2009), and are rated by the Cool Roof
Rating Council for their performance. The new
line will be available in the Compton, Calif. plant
service area on March 31st. Broader distribution
will be decided as the market dictates.
To ensure aesthetic appeal and additional
differentiated value for builders and roofing
contractors, the new line offers a
three-dimensional look and a unique, more vivid
color palette than what's traditionally available in
other "cool roof" products and applications. The
result is an efficient roof that also delivers
distinctive curb appeal.
Duration Premium Cool Roof shingles are
available in four colors: Sage, Frosted Oak,
Harbor Fog and Sunrise.
